FIG - International Gymnastics Federation Toward greater justice in sport FIG introduces Reference Judges Group LAUSANNE (SUI), FIG Office, September 20, 2010: In May 2010, the FIG Council approved the introduction of Reference Judges as proposed by the Executive Committee. The decision strongly supported FIG President Prof. Bruno Grandi’s commitment to eradicate injustice and dishonesty from judging. This year, Reference Judges will, for the first time, be an official working unit of the Rhythmic Gymnastics World Championships in Moscow (RUS), September 19 – 26, 2010. Four judges, selected by the FIG Presidential Commission, will constitute the two judging panels, bringing to eight the total number of judges responsible for the evaluation of Execution and Artistic. The average of the scores issued by the Reference Judges will be compared with that submitted by the usual panel of judges in Execution and / or Artistic.
