AA Results WC Group - Moscow, Russia 2010

I am very happy to see Italy win this World Championship, especially since it's being held in Russia! Congratulations! And because it's being held in Russia , we are seeing the Russian Group in yet another undeserving AA 3rd place - after a very rough performance with huge mistakes on 5 Hoops routine. Somehow the judges were able to place Russian Team on podium. Good job Viner - I want to be just like you when I grow up! And Poland group ...  I hope that the girls realize how big of a joke their high placing is! Nothing personal, but please ! What about Spain? Well, Spain had a disastrous 5 Hoop performance that was shocking to everyone except Efrossina Angelova, Noelia Fernandez Navarro and my self! Why? Well ... that is a very big question that deserves a very long answer that i will refrain from giving until the competition is over! However, I am going to say that it has been very, very difficult for me to keep quite in the last few months. I have given my mother - Efrossina Angelova -  a promise to refrain from speaking of the situations going on there and I will keep my promise until ... The time comes when all the "dirty laundry" will be exposed for the whole world to know. It is written everywhere on all of the international forums about the latest stint of the Spanish Federation! That is just the tip of the "Iceberg" ladies and gentlemen ... Just wait and see...

After the first day of Group competition the results are:

I just saw the group finals. It was sooo unfair. Russia did not deserve those two golds. Bulgaria's 5 hoops was the best of the hole championships!
So sad for Spain. They are my favorites. I supose that there is a lot going on behind...
And the individual contest was allright I guess. Except for Garaeva and Mitrosz, the rest was pretty fair.
Go Spain! Best wishes.

Hi Stella,

I was very sad after the Spanish performance. I have read somewhere that there were injuries etc. The problems in the Federation wouldn't help either. I really hope that Efrossina Angelova and Noelia Fernández stay as coaches and you get involved again with the choreographies. I have seen the girls' work many times on youtube and when it is well done is amazing.

Regarding the rest of the competition, I think overall it was pretty fair (with some exception that you have mentioned).

One of the highlights of the whole competition was Bulgaria's 5 hoops. And Kondakova's performances in the first two finals. She seemed to loose a bit of steam after that. Kanaeva was very good in the final too, precise and fluid.

Stella, sorry for the performance of Spain but my best wishes and encouragement to keep up with the good job. I am sure my opinion is shared by many Spaniards.

Hi Maria,
I agree with you that this was definitely a much more fair judging. But we must keep in mind that there were a lot of huge mistakes made. Like - Russian 5 Hoop. That AA medal should have gone to another country! Bulgaria 5 hoops was awesome! And I will eventually post some of their videos here...
Spanish group and team and country - is suffering from a bad Spanish Federation case and the only way to take care of this is for certain people to be completely removed from their positions! It is beyond bad the situation and it is showing in the gymnasts attitudes and the way they have been training. We need people to keep politics out of the gym and away from the girls them selfs. We need people to understand that, the Team is more important than their hunger for power! We need people who will understand what it means "One for all and all for one"! We need people to leave the gymnasts alone and let them do what they are there to do - Train & Compete. Then and only then will Spain have a strong team!
Thanks,

Stella Angelova
