Stella Angelova is a 5 time National champion, Europe Champion in 1988 and World Champion in 1989 in group. At 17 she quit the sport and moved to USA. In 2005 Angelova was hired as a commentator for the World Championship held in Baku. Her unbiased and objective commentary during the competition has delighted all active internet users. We decided to ask Stella what she thinks of rhythmic gymnastics today and its future.

- Stella, is your current life connected to Rhythmic Gymnastics and how?

S.A - I am currently not involved in RG. I prefer to focus my time and effort in making Films, TV shows, Commercials, Fashion - I have a clothing line Angelova Couture
The last time I was involved in RG was as the choreographer for the Spanish National Group team (2009 - 2010)
Efrossina Angelova - my mother and coach, was hired by the Spanish Federation as the Spanish National Coach and she brought me in to do the choreography. However, my experience with the Spanish Federation - (RFEG) - and their horrible Politics ended with a Lawsuit filed and won by Efrossina Angelova. Spanish Federation has only paid 50% of the sum owed to date, Angelova's lawyers are going to push things along as more documents are filed as we speak, to recover the rest of the money owed. During that time I kept a Blog/Diary I humorously decided to call "My Opinion is the one that Matters" - LINK to it --> Why is Pancracia Servent such a Pain in the Ass?

- Are you interested in the current RG? What do you think about the rules and judging in RG? And who do you like in RG today?
S.A - I am interested in RG ,however I do not live for it nor do I want to. I am .... what is the word ... bored with it! It's predictable outcome at every competition has killed my interest to watch or be involved in it. I see gymnasts and groups copying one another and/or recycling the same elements, music, leotards etc., from previous years. Any time you see something new and original at the beginning of the year by a team or a gymnast, by the end of the year others would have copied it. No one wants to be original anymore and what for? It's all about the judges really! They are the ones competing for the medals, not the gymnast! You could have an exceptional routine that is executed in a way that it could take your breath away, but if you don't have judges working with other judges to get the score you deserve, you might as well settle for scraps! I usually like gymnast and teams that are original and take risque with their choreography, music and leotard designs. Such a thing is rare.

What do you think of Bulgarian RG today?
S.A - I think that the Bulgarian school of RG has maintained its traditions and continues to make gymnast with outstanding technique with all apparatus! I see other gymnast on an international level, who skipped the first years of proper technique training and went strait to competition , just based on their flexibility. Bulgarian RG is definitely not what it used to be, but then again Bulgaria is not the country that ones was. Bulgarian gymnast see what is happening to RG politicly and it's hard to dedicate yourself to years of intensive training to a lost cause. I think Iliana Raeva is doing her part, but team work is everything. They too have problems with the Bulgarian Federation. My personal opinion is that Maria Gigova needs to let the New Generation take the rains! Because, you can't beat a dead horse ... if you know what I mean. Regardless of those issues, bulgarian group team delivered an original choreography, executed without mistakes at the last WC in 2011 and won the Gold as they should have. I'd be shocked to see Irina Viner allow this to happen again ... Ha!

What can you say about Olympic champion Evgenia Kanaeva? And about Daria Kondakova?
S.A - I think Evgenia Kanaeva was at her best in the last Olympic Games. I don't know why she's milking her retirement. I don't understand any gymnast that stays longer than she needs to! There is so much more to do with their acquired talent then just RG ... Anyway, Kanaeva - who in my humble opinion is quite "dry in her performance", usually starts her year with very difficult routines and ends up watering them down in the end. I prefer Kondakova's style, she has more soulful performance. However, her scores often don't match the execution ... again as no surprise to anyone!

What can you say about Ukrainian gymnast? And what do you think about the prospects of these girls at the Olympics 2012?

S.A - I remember seeing Bessonova's Ribbon routine at the 2009 WC in Mie - and I remember that feeling you get when you connect with the choreography, performance, music and you forget that it is a competition, you forget what country she represents, you forget to even look at the score, because what I saw was ART! Those are big shoes to fill.
Maksymenko is one of my favorite individual gymnast to watch right now. She is so expressive and has great flexibility, jumps, turns, etc. Her choreography could be more stylized and grown up, because I feel that she is capable of performing it. In the end, it's all about perfect execution and who did their job "under the judges table".

What do you think of the future of RG in general?
S.A - The future of RG looks quite bleak to me. The powerful will become more powerful. The others will try to become alias with them in order to survive. FIG RG President Maria Szyszkowska (POL) will continue to push for undeserving gymnast like her native Joanna Mitrosz (POL) and the polish group team. Russian gymnast will get better, because of the pool of gymnast it has to choose from, because Irina Viner takes care of her coaches and gymnast well and because of the rising popularity and achievements in RG in Russia. The Code of Points will change to accommodate those in power and the judges will continue to do "business" behind closed doors prior to competition. And repeats again and again till someone puts a stop to it or it fizzles out into an art form...

S.A - It was the truth. I think it's interesting that to this day, I continue to receive messages from fans about a single commentary I did 6 years ago on Kapranova's Ribbon routine! I think Olga Kapranova was such a mess of a gymnast, all flexibility and no turns , no techniqie ... In your face mistake after mistake and still Irina Viner was pushing for her. Russian gymnast have changed since.

- Will comment on the 2012 Olympic Games?
S.A - No.
- I don't know if it matters what I say or don't say. I think that I am possibly the only neutral person that speaks the truth about RG publicly. Everyone knows and see's it, but no one says it out loud. And that is maybe because my bread and butter doesn't depend on wether I work in RG or not. I am not interested in telling "Fairy Tales" nor am I interested in kissing ass. The only reason I was able to do commentary in 2005 is because no one knew what I would say and because Bart Conner - commentating with me - was interested in the truth! At this moment 99.9% of people in USA audience have no interest in RG, because the state of RG here is about 20 years behind! And what country wants to watch other counties beat up on their athletes? I don't see this changing any time soon, because RG girls in USA are more interested in being famous than training as hard and as long as they need to or as the Russian , Ukrainian or Bulgarian RG girls do. And again, why should they? They have more opportunities here to do other things to showcase their mediocre RG craft ... I am sure they will not like to hear this, but it is the truth!
As for Olympics 2012 - NBC (TV channel) will probably have a "politicly correct" person commentating during the Olympics and I will probably watch it with a glass of red wine next to me, clapping for those who deserve it and booing those who don't ... And the next day I will be on set working on whatever I will be working on at that time, completely forgetting that the Olympics just passed ... and everyone will live happily ever after.
Unless , someone has the balls to put a mic in front of me ... but don't hold your breath.

Efrossina Angelova wins the Lawsuit against the Spanish Federation

I never wrote a direct post about the outcome of the Lawsuit Efrossina Angelova filed against the Spanish Federation (RFEG)

I would like to inform whoever cares to know that, Efrossina Anguelova - former Head Coach of the Spanish Rhythmic Gymnastic program, sued and won against the Spanish federation (RFEG)
The settlement - Spanish Federation (RFEG) will pay a substantial amount of money to Angelova for her mistreatment and illegal premature termination of her contract by the very Spanish Federation.

Both, Efrossina Angelova and I - (Stella Angelova ) are Ecstatic with the final outcome of the Lawsuit! :)

Rhythmic Gymnastics has been evolving with time. I remember the first time I saw the Japanese Male Group Team perform in Sofia, Bulgaria ...that was 1988-89 i think. Now we see National Competitions for Male Rhythmic Gymnasts popping up all over the world, both for Individual and Group. I think it is awesome and amazing! I find it interesting that people are attacking me first for not being "clear" enough. Then, when I start to explain and give dates and situations and names... all of the sudden , people are accusing me of liying!
People are angry that the gymnasts are without a Seleccionadora! People are worried that they are not preparing the new choreographies! Why are they angry at me and Efrossina Angelova is what i ask?
Who's fault is it that the Spanish Group Team does not have a coach who is preparing the new choreographies? Who is the person who left the Spanish National Group team without their coach? The answer to those questions is - Pancracia Sirvent!

I - Stella Angelova, personally edited the 5 Balls music, the last time I was in Madrid prior to EC.
We began working on collaborations and elements for the 5 Balls choreography back then, because Efrossina Angelova and I wanted to start with the new 5 Balls choreography in June 2010.
I had awesome ideas for the new 5 Balls choreography... and what the girls got is... nothing!!
Because, as soon as we - Efrossina and I, got a sniff of what Pancracia Sirvent was planing on doing, we decided to cancel my trip there and wait and see what happens after this last competition. And as you all see , our fears were justified and now we are all dealing with the consequences of the decision's made by the one and only - Pancracia Sirvent!
Pancracia Sirvent's plans to "fire" The Selleccionadora of the Spanish Team - Efrossina Angelova, were executed by Ignacio Marron. The day after Antonio Esteban stepped down as a President, Ignacio Marron, under Pancracia Sirvent's instructions, called Efrossina Angelova into his office and told her that she is "Fired" without giving any reasons why! He told her that he forbid's her to go to the gym! He sirved Efrossina Angelova with a bogus letter, that she took directly to her team of lawyers, who are handling her Lawsuit against the RFEG filed on September 19 2010.
What is important again to mention is that Efrossina Angelova did everything possible to work with the RFEG. On numerous occasions she met with then President - Antonio Esteban to ask for his help. Then she turned to Ignacio Marron, who was rude and unprofessional, leaving Efrossina Angelova alone to fend for her self. So, Efrossina Angelova had no choice but to turn to the Consejo! That's right! Efrossina Angelova, was smart enough to realize that she needed a higher power to come and see and over look what exactly the RFEG is doing and planing on doing. Everyone there knows and saw what the current RFEG did. It is written on paper, described perfectly, filed properly and witnessed by many!
Don't you all worry about me just talking and talking all the way here from the USA... We have an army of Lawyers doing their work in Efrossina Angelova's behalf. And when the Lawsuit goes to Court in January, I will be there! Front and center! I can't wait!

We Angelova's, are people who are financially quite well!! Unlike Baranova, who has been living in Pancracia's apartment for how long 2 years now?? Unlike Baranova , who totally depends on Pancracia for a coaching position in her friends clubs or in the CAR ...

I am Pancracia Sirvent's worse nightmare come true

Efrossina Angelova started working with the Spanish Rhythmic Gymnastics National team in 2008 immediately following the Olympic Games In Beijing, just prior to Benidorm WC. Following that competition, there was a break and in October of 2008, I - Stella Angelova came in to Madrid, to start work on new choreographies. While I was there, along with Efrossina Angelova, Sara Bayon and Noelia Fernandez Navarro's help, I prepped elements, collaborations, edited music in the studio and eventually choreographed 2 Routines for the Senior Group, 1 routine for the Junior Group and 3 choreographies for Rebecca Garcia (an individual gymnast there) That was a lot of work that I did, because we realized that 95% of the girl's technique was on a very poor level, and in some cases - technique was none existent at all... because , (we were told) the gymnasts have not been competing with those equipment so they never learned to work with them!! This is National Team here OK!

So, you can imagine - we had our work cut out for us!!

We started with the A B C of proper way of holding the ribbon, what finger is where when holding the stick, spirals, snakes, small throws, proper tossing and catching etc., etc. It took a very long time and hard work , but if we were going to do certain elements , we needed a good foundation! I hope some of you that know better, can appreciate the amount of patience, dedication, repetition and repetition and repetition it takes ... which is how you become good at pretty much anything and that's including Rhythmic Gymnastics! There is no other way around it... especially in group team where everyone must look, move, toss and catch ...as one!

While I was there, I realized that Efrossina Angelova had began all this work, without a signed Contract! I was shocked and a little uncomfortable with that news , but Jesus Carballo, who was the Program Director of RG at that time, explained to us that ..." it's just the way things are right now... a lot of chaos ...and they are working on it" Which is the reason I was not paid for my work with the Spanish National Team at that time! I was very understanding about the situation and plus the money that the RFEG was paying me for all this work was a "symbolic sum" or as I like to say it ... " I could wipe my ass with that money" ... if you know what I mean ;)

So, it went on ...

Efrossina Angelova, who understood the amount of work that is ahead of her, continued working as if everything was fine with her Contract ... Focussing on preparing the very difficult choreographies.

I returned to Madrid , Spain in April of 2009 to make some changes in all 3 choreographies prior to WC Portimao 2009. At that point I had still not been paid for the work that I did in October of 2008! That payment was made later!

And at that point Efrossina Angelova was still working without a Contract, because they were too busy with their own Politics to think about the RG Seleccionadora's Contract.

Portimao WC 2009 is the first time I had the chance to meet Pancracia Sirvent and Carolina's coach Ruth Fernadez. What is important to mention here is that Pancracia Sirvent does not speak english, or russian or italian... (which makes it difficult to communicate with the international pool of judges when "negotiating") I quickly became the "communication link" between Efrossina Angelova and Pancracia Sirvent, because Pancracia complitely ignored Noelia Fernandez Navarro and spoke to Sara Bayon , only when absolutely necessary! While in transit to Portimao , I sat next to Ruth who does not speak english as well, but who began "Campaigning " against Sara Bayon and Noelia Fernandez. She was determent to convince me to convince Efrossina Angelova - to remove both Sara and Noelia from their positions in the National Team!

This went on while we were on our way there and continued during the whole competition in Portimao! She was in my ear while on the bus, on the plain, at the table eating or down stairs in the lounge room after a long and stressful day at the competition - Ruth Fernandez did not stop talking anti - Sara & Noelia in my ear!! It was annoying and unnecessary and I pulled both Sara and Noelia a side and told them exactly what is going on... (The truth is that I liked Sara Bayon and Noelia Fernandez! I can and I have partied with both of them! And I am cool with both of them still!)

While all of this is happening behind the curtain (sort to speak) the girls Senior Group & Junior Group are having one of their very first experiences in a big international competition! As coaches - we must focus on them and make sure that none of the bullshit going on behind the curtain are to be mentioned in front of them! I feel that it is imperative that the gymnasts/athletes, should never be involved in the politics! They have enough to think about and to stress about, then to put more unnecessary info that could eventually be mentally crippling for an athlete!

Where is Pancracia Sirvent at that time? Well, she is trying to introduce her self to the judges who have no idea who she is and can't understand a word she is saying!! Efrossina Angelova, who is highly respected in the international RG community as a Breve judge for many years and who's name carries a lot of weight, had to stand by Pancracia Sirvent and introduce her to her long time colleagues and friends, so they would know who Pancracia Sirvent is working with!! Yes people, it is true! Pancracia Sirvent is a nobody in the International Judging pool! In fact, Efrossina Angelova asked to switch Pancracia with Nuria (the other judge traveling) on the second day of judging, because Nuria speaks english and did better work than Pancracia could on day one!

Where was I - Stella Angelova during all this?? I was everywhere... with my camera and microphone!!

I always travel with my camera and I have 2 mics - one that attaches to the top of the camera and one that is "wireless"! Why do I wear wireless microphone you may ask me?? My answer to you all is this: "Because you never know who will be talking your ear off!!"

Yes, that is right! I have audio of Ruth Fernandez - in spanish ... talking and talking and talking...

Do you know what else I have? I have a video of a very important moment that followed the WC, Portimao competition, while at the Banquet dinner table with the entire delegation - Pancracia Sirvent verbally insulted and I mean completely destroyed the captain of the Spanish Senior Team at the time Ana Maria Pelaz Mota! For the rest of the night Ana - who is an Olympian and who has done more good for the Spanish RG than Pancracia - Ana spent the night crying at the table, while everyone else was dancing and celebrating! Wow Pancracia, did you feel powerful making her cry for hours??

I have a video of that! You say - I'm insulting the girls?? ...Have you heard the saying : " People who live in glass houses, should not throw stones" ... Hmm??

I have 30 + hours of video and about 15 hours of audio, that I have recorded while working with the Spanish Team! I am planing on bringing all of this footage to Madrid , when I come to testify (if it goes to court) in behalf of Efrossina Angelova , who is currently suing the RFEG for numerous reasons that I will not disclose here at this time!

If you ask me personally who Cathy Xaudaro is?:

She WAS and IS a "tumor" inserted into the Senior Group team, that spread Gossip and diseased the minds of those who were weak enough to follow! This description will be the same if you ask another person who has had the opportunity to work with her , and that is : Emilia Boneva

Injuries in RG? That's Crazy? ...I have never heard that ever happening :) ... Let's blame Efrossina Angelova for everything...including the ever injured Carolina Rodriguez!!

However, I knew of the current elections being scrapped early this morning! ... How is it that I learn all this NEWS when I am not even in Spain?? ...I'd like to tell you, but I'm not gonna ;)

Cirque Du Soleil and Spanish RG in Madrid

Yesterday I sent the following e-mail to Noelia Fernandez and Jesus Carballo (because those are the only contacts i have). I NEED AN ANSWER FROM ANYONE IN CHARGE AT RFEG AT THIS MOMENT as soon as possible please.
Cirque Du Soleil has contacted me in regards to a Promotional Show in Madrid Spain. They want me to recommend 5 rhythmic gymnasts that are based in Madrid, who would be used in Cirque Du Soleil's Performance scheduled on November 29-30 2010.
If Jesus Carballo, Pancracia Sirvent or Ignacio Marron, can over look our political differences and is able to see the great opportunity the Spanish group gymnasts have here, I would be more than happy to recommend the gymnasts to the Cirque Du Soleil's choreographer in charge of this event.Noelia Fernandez Navarro will be the contact person for Cirque Du Soleil. This is for the girls, not politics!
I will recommend the following non injured gymnasts: Lidia Redondo, Elena Lopez, Nuria Sancho, Lourdes Mohedano & Miriam Belando.
I think this will be really fun and a great experiance for the girls, especially since they are not doing anything at this moment , but just waiting around...
Please let me know by the latest tomorrow , so I can give Cirque Du Soleil all of the info they need and put them in touch with Noelia Fernandez.
The following is a part of the letter I received from "Cirque Du Soleil - Corteo":
-We will need 5 performing girls. + one of our own rg gymnast.
We will build a 4.5 minute choreography with a Corteo Inspiration including different manipulation skills (in rhythmic gym style) Balls/ Ribbons / Hoops.
we (cirque) are providing the music and the costumes.
Thats why we will need all the girls measurments asap.
We will have 6 hours of rehearsal on Nov 28th and have to find a space for that. (if the gym can be available ..... )
Few hours in the gym if before the SHOW on the 29th.

Thank you Stella, if you could please get back to us as soon as possible with the names of girls you think are available for these dates in Madrid and perhaps some contact information for the gym in Madrid that would be so appreciated. Thank you!!!

Why is Pancracia Sirvent such a pain in the ass for Spanish RG?

Who is Pancracia Sirvent and why is she such a pain in the ass for Spanish Rhythmic Gymnastics?
The woman in question here, came into the RFEG last year and took Jesus Carballo's spot as the Director of RG program.
Antonio Esteban who has strictly been a front man without a vote or an opinion on any of the RFEG's final decisions, was the one who placed Pancracia Sirvent in that position.
The moment Pancracia took that position, she started making changes to benefit her self personally and her close friends from Castilla Leon.
Efrossina Angelova's contract clearly states that she was hired as the Spanish Entrenadora , which means both individual and group gymnasts and their coaches and the rest of the Spanish Rhythmic Gymnastics community is to be over looked by Efrossina Angelova till the end of the 2012 Olympic Cycle. Efrossina Anglova's plans were scrapped by Pancracia Sirvent, who decided to give her self the position of Entrenadora for the Spanish Individual Team and leave the Senior Group Team to Efrossina Angelova. Regardless of the fact that Efrossina Angelova was totally against this change and regardless of the fact that it was contractually illegal, Antonio Esteban allowed Pancracia to do whatever she wanted.
However, Pancracia was not satisfied with just having control over the Individual RG Team.

I - Stella Angelova - prior to European Championship, decided to edit and release a video that I filmed in Spain while working with the Spanish Group Team, in which I wanted to show how much work this team and their coaches were putting in on daily basis. The video was loved by the girls in the senior group team and they felt inspired by it. With that video, just like with the previous ones that I have edited my self, I am promoting and generating interest not only in Spain, but most importantly I am generating International Interest and putting the Spot Light on the Spanish Group Team in a very big way! Gymnasts, coaches and judges have come to watch the Spanish Group team at their competition practices. When was the last time you had that much buzz surrounding the Spanish group team?? It's been a while, no?
The problem is that in that particular video, I showed the gymnasts crying and the coach screaming!! WOW! How dare I show such a thing?? Pancracia Sirvent was appalled and angered by that video! She demanded that video to be taken down off of the internet! She refused to speak to Efrossina Angelova or the senior group gymnasts after their awesome performance at the European Championship. Pancracia Sirvent maybe has not seen the Thousands of videos out there on the internet of athletes crying and coaches screaming!! Pancracia Sirvent is a judge, not a coach, not a choreographer, never a gymnast or competitor, but just a judge!
And than it all started...
Pancracia Sirvent had the RFEG hire a lawyer who beggan to translate my Blog to her!! Pancracia Sirvent paid that lawyer with RFEG money for months! Pancracia Sirvent along with that same lawyer, Ignasio Marron and Antonio Esteban, pulled Efrossina Angelova out of her scheduled training practices and had her come into the offices alone and threaten to fire her on numerous occasions - if she did not convince me to take my personal Blog down!! Which of coarse I refused to do and which prompted me to announce here on my Blog , that I no longer wish to work with the current RFEG!!
That was followed up by a very poorly written letter by that same lawyer that I received from Ignasio Marron and that I ended up posting here on my Blog.
Pancracia Sirvent , then hired another coach/ friend of hers to work in the Senior Group gym, even though Efrossina Angelova did not want or approve of this person's coaching abilities! So, the Entrenadora of the Senior Group team is not allowed to choose the staff she wants to work with?? Why? Why is Pancracia Sirvent hiring and paying people money that are not only not needed , but also not wanted!! Efrossina Angelova had to work on daily basis for months with a woman who was not qualified to do that job, a woman who took a regular pay roll!! That same woman, against Efrossina Angelova's wishes was flown in and registered and fully accommodated during the 2010 WC in Moscow, even though the RFEG had no money to pay for the hotel rooms of their gymnasts and staff.
Let's call that woman - Cathy Xaudaró.
I think it's important to mention here that as the choreographer of the Spanish Group Team - I - Stella Angelova - travelled and all of my accommodations at the WC Portimao 2009 were totally and completely paid for personally by Efrossina Angelova!! Not one dollar was taken from the RFEG, because ... they could not afford it!

So, this is the very very short version of Pancracia Sirvent and her endeavors as the Director of the Spanish RG program...

People are having a problem understanding what it is that I am writing here. They say that I need to be more clear about it... So I thought about it and thought about it for a minute and came up with this:

If you vote for Jesus Carballo - you vote for the old federation which includes - Antonio Esteban, Ignacio Marron and Pancracia Sirvent.

If you vote for Angelo Madronal Folpini - you vote for change in the current RFEG and you vote for Efrossina Angelova to stay and finish her contract for this Olympic Cycle. And possibly some awesome choreographies from Stella Angelova.

How is that? Was that clear enough for you all??

Hello people who read my Blog :)
So, it's been a very busy few weeks here in Los Angeles for me...

I feel it is necessary to give you all some very interesting information regarding the new up and coming elections for a new President of the RFEG.
What we all know is that there are three candidates.
What we all know is that out of those three, the stronger two candidates are Angelo Madronal Folpini and Jesus Carballo.
Now what "we" don't know, is that in the last month or so Jesus Carballo has been a very busy boy!
Now... now Jesus, what happened to you exactly?? At what moment did you loose your soul to the Devil? Was it when I mentioned your name here on my Blog and gave you such a rave reviews of your previous doings? Or was it way before that, that you started dealing with the Evil Forces that "we" have all been trying to rid your RFEG from?
Do you really need those votes that bad, that you are willing to bend over for that woman, just like Antonio did, just like Ignacio Marron did... and now you?
I personally expected better from you! In fact I expected much better from you Jesus!
I know your brother's girlfriend is Sara Bayon and I know she'll be the first to be given a job in the RG gym ... because she's been patiently waiting in the side lines, or in your daddy's gym next door, nothing shocking here!
What I think is shocking is the deal that Jesus Carballo has already made with Team Evil!
Which is as follows:
Antonio Esteban will be hired back in the RFEG as a General Advisor, while Pancracia and Ignacio stay where they are! In return, they will support Jesus Carballo with their Votes!
Yay! So, nothing really changes after all with Jesus Carballo now does it?
As long as Antonio Esteban, Pancracia Sirvent & mr. Cry Baby -AKA- Ignacio Marron are a part of your RFEG, You Spaniards will never get back to your Golden Era!!
And to Jesus, I hope you know that once Pancracia has you by the Balls, she'll rip them off and will feed them to her "hienas" and they will eat them up and wash them down with some red Rioja!
Just look what happened to Nacho Marron and Toni Estaban, they are still wondering whether they are still considered men or women... And my personal opinion on those two is - they are not men enough to be considered women!!

I receive messages from people asking me if all is ok and such...

People, this is nothing new! Seriously, things have been this way for a very long time. In fact so bad, that Efrossina Angelova felt it necessary to involve the Consejo months before the departure for the WC Moscow. The Consejo is a 100% behind Efrossina Angelova and has been for months through out this whole ridiculous ordeal. Efrossina Angelova has been very professional by submitting a complete detailed written report to the Consejo describing the events during the preparation of the Spanish Group Team for the WC Moscow. It had to be done!

Efrossina Angelova has a team of people around her who have been very supportive and helpful beyond words. I would like to thank those people for being there when I can not be! It has been very difficult to watch one of the most professional and hard working women I have ever known - my mother - Efrossina Angelova, being disrespected and bullied like a kid in pre school by the very people who should be supporting her work. We would have been in such a different place if they just stopped putting the breaks on her work. It is like watching the whole first year and half of hard work and building just disintegrate. The results of her work were so obvious to the whole world and the difference between what everyone saw last year to the team we saw in Moscow was beyond words. It is total chaos! It's everyone for them selfs up there! Nobody cares about the sport or what is good for the team or the girls in the long run.

Keeping the Politics away from the gym and away from the gymnasts is the number 1 rule a professional must know ms. Pancracia, your personal friendships with a gymnasts has had a direct affect on the entire team! I know you don't have a clue about what it takes to be a gymnast, or a coach, or a choreographer, or a competitior. But I am here to tell you that the best results are achieved when there is only one person leading the team and that should always be the coach! It is so sad that ms. Pancracia Servant is so self serving and eveil. Maybe If she used that trade in her work as a Judge, Spain would be able to place better internationally. But, nobody cares or knows her there, so she has to get her power trip here at home... grasping for the last straw ...

The document with which ms Efrossina Angelova was supposedly fired is invalid, illegal and holds no merit in a court of law. Following Efrossina Angelova's bogus "dismissal" by the RFEG's mr. Cry Baby, The Consejo issued a strict order to the CAR - No other coach or personal is to be permitted to enter the CAR.

This is almost as funny as it is stupid.
Ladies and gentleman, a day after the resignation of the RFEG President - Antonio Esteban , his right hand "man", who has absolutely no authority what so ever at the current moment nor will he ever in the near future, called in the Entrenadora of the Spanish Group Team - Efrossina Angelova into his office to inform her that he is firing her!! Ha Ha Ha ... As of this moment the team has no Head Coach! ... or do they??
... Later, he called her back on the phone while she was with her Legal Team of Lawyers and he cried like a baby... while everyone stifled their laugh...
I would like to inform mr. Cry Baby that given the fact that there is no current president, no existing collective group of people who vote on important decisions such as firing a Head Coach and most importantly no legal reason - that he's actions are illegal at best and I would have asked him under what authority he is acting? Will ms. Pancricia take responsibility for his actions or will he stop being her pussy man and finally grow some balls and do something good for the sport?? Also mr. Cry Baby, I know you are aware of the fact that there is an on going Lawsuit that was filed on September 19th 2010 by one ms. Efrossina Angelova and the legal team of Lawyers representing her. Your "leader" and her "Fan Club" should have told you that your current actions only strengthen the case ms. Angelova already has against the RFEG and it's associates - (you included)
Efrossina Angelova has no problem taking an extended vacation while you figure out how to get out of the mess you have made! While the rest of the Rhythmic Gymnastics world is already working on new material for next year, the Spanish National Team will be in limbo waiting for RFEG endless struggle for power and money to end!
Talk amongst your selfs :)

What I like hearing so far is that Jesus Carballo is temporarily taking over the position from Antonio Esteban who is resigning officially today! Thumbs up on that one :) I think Jesus Carballo is the only person left in that current Federation at this moment in time, that has any busyness being there and has no personal interest nor is he corrupted by the "evil forces"!! ;)

The new candidates will be presented next week and the election will begin in the second week of November.

In the mean time ... I had a great time with mom here in Los Angeles! It is good to see her relaxed and laughing like the good old times! I can't wait to see her again sooner, than later!

I have decided to hold off on writing my personal opinion until "The other shoe drops" as we say...
And also, i think it would be so much better not to write this in third person! It would be better to hear all the facts from the person that was there from the beginning till the end - Efrossina Angelova.
Yes, I am expecting my mother's visit here in Los Angeles in the next week or so. And I have managed to convince her to sit down and give me a detailed interview which I will transcribe and post here! I may even take pictures .... I may take video ... I may not ...
There are things that are still unravelling as we speak ... I personally am looking forward to seeing mom and getting all this drama out in the open. Let's see if she'll still follow through with it...
But to put some of your worries to rest - Neither Efrossina Angelova nor Noelia Fernandez Navarro are planing on giving their resignations!!
I guess you all will have to have some patience and ...just wait and see ...

AA Results WC Group - Moscow, Russia 2010

I am very happy to see Italy win this World Championship, especially since it's being held in Russia! Congratulations! And because it's being held in Russia , we are seeing the Russian Group in yet another undeserving AA 3rd place - after a very rough performance with huge mistakes on 5 Hoops routine. Somehow the judges were able to place Russian Team on podium. Good job Viner - I want to be just like you when I grow up! And Poland group ... I hope that the girls realize how big of a joke their high placing is! Nothing personal, but please ! What about Spain? Well, Spain had a disastrous 5 Hoop performance that was shocking to everyone except Efrossina Angelova, Noelia Fernandez Navarro and my self! Why? Well ... that is a very big question that deserves a very long answer that i will refrain from giving until the competition is over! However, I am going to say that it has been very, very difficult for me to keep quite in the last few months. I have given my mother - Efrossina Angelova - a promise to refrain from speaking of the situations going on there and I will keep my promise until ... The time comes when all the "dirty laundry" will be exposed for the whole world to know. It is written everywhere on all of the international forums about the latest stint of the Spanish Federation! That is just the tip of the "Iceberg" ladies and gentlemen ... Just wait and see...

In my opinion, after watching the Individual competition ... i must say that Russia at this moment in time, year 2010 has the strongest team in the world of Rhythmic Gymnastics! All three gymnast are obviously training hard and delivering great performances on the carpet! Yes I am serious. Congratulations to Daria Dmitrieva for performing her Ribbon routine with so much pressure on her shoulders. Bravo. I am going to start posting some videos from the last couple of days. In my opinion, it is totally ridiculous that the competition is allowing only one apparatus a day. But, it is what it is. I will not comment on the VERY BIG and Distracting painted Background. It is surely not making it easier on the gymnasts and quite frankly I am worried that some of the judges may pay more attention to the pretty picture than the gymnast making mistakes.... FIG introduces Reference Judges Group
LAUSANNE (SUI), FIG Office, September 20, 2010: In May 2010, the FIG Council approved the introduction of Reference Judges as proposed by the Executive Committee. The decision strongly supported FIG President Prof. Bruno Grandi’s commitment to eradicate injustice and dishonesty from judging. This year, Reference Judges will, for the first time, be an official working unit of the Rhythmic Gymnastics World Championships in Moscow (RUS), September 19 – 26, 2010.

Four judges, selected by the FIG Presidential Commission, will constitute the two judging panels, bringing to eight the total number of judges responsible for the evaluation of Execution and Artistic. The average of the scores issued by the Reference Judges will be compared with that submitted by the usual panel of judges in Execution and / or Artistic. In the event that the two scores differ too widely from what is authorised by the rules, the two scores will be averaged to calculate the final Execution / Artistic scores of the gymnast.

By creating a separate judges’ group completely independent of the traditional judges’ panel, the Federation hopes to correct any major mistakes in judging. The positive results of tests achieved in 2009 and in the spring of 2010 were the impetus behind this decision.

From now on, Reference Judges will be progressively introduced into other disciplines on the FIG programme.

I feel sorry for those who have to deal with that "Rotten Apple"... if you have one of those you must eliminate it on time... or all of the hard work will rotten away with it!!

This is a conference given to the Bulgarian TV after the last elections by Maria Gigova, who speaks about the political games in Rhythmic Gymnastics and it's Voting process in FIG! I will translate some of it:

Summed up Translation:
"You all know that in the last cycle , Bulgaria did not have a FIG representative. So it was important that Bulgaria had a running candidate for the Presidential position in the Technical Committee and for a spot in the Technical Committee! The process for voting was the following:
The countries separate in different Blocks and each Block will Vote for their representatives.
Until the last night before the voting began, Bulgaria had the chance to have a president in me. Because , I had the attention and support from many countries I never expected much from. We knew that we (Bulgaria) may have a chance, but at the last moment before the voting began ... the block of Asia split in two!! Big role played by the Russian Representatives over the Japanese Representative - who was responsible for all Asain RSG politics. And even though the night prior to the voting, he was promising his vote for Maria Gigova (Bulgaria) ... the next morning he changed it and said: "I'll be voting for Maria Szyszkowska (Poland)!!" In one night they pressed him and worked him over to change his vote! Now ...we know how these things work,... we don't need to go into it... But, i needed only 6 votes, because Szyszkowska wins with 10 votes., and 3rd came in Michelle Duncan ( New Zealand). Those 6 votes that the Japan representative was worked over , were the fatal ones! Bulgaria could have had a president , but that last Block played well by the Russians - was the final drawing card. The Russians came together with Asia! Plus the European Block was split in Two - because the Greek Rep took in 20 votes and when the European Block is split in two, then you know what that means ... it is chaos.
On the other hand - Bruno Grandi ITA(current FIG president) - was playing the neutral position , by siding with Michelle Duncan( New Zealand ).
So one side of the European Block was siding with the Russians for Maria Szyszkowska (Poland), the other was siding with Michelle Duncan (NZ) and then I was left in the middle."

Some pests just keep festering ...

Almost a month ago I received a long, none sense e-mail from that annoying seamstress from Spain. It was so ridiculous and obvious to me that she did not read or translate all of the explanations i've already given on my Blog about the leotard designs. So, I ignored her email, and her attempts to have me mention her name on my Blog. As I still have not mentioned it here and that is definitely on purpose!
Later, she decided to write an even more ridiculous "anonymous Post"in a public forum, which pretty much showed her true colors and proved once again what type of character she really is.

Important facts:

1. I have never personally met this woman! She has never been face to face with me and she has never had the chance to see me work or to even have a conversation with me! So for her to say that she knows me personally is a lie.

2. The two Skype video calls that she was a part of, were both video taped by me with my camera (of coarse) and they were done when the whole team of coaches and gymnasts were there doing fittings and discussing the leotards! I have had many Skype Video calls where I have changed choreography and discussed work with Efrossina Angelova and the rest of the girls. And they are all video taped :)

3. There were only 4 people who have seen all of the seamstress submitted designs. And she was one of them.

4. I think this woman's ego has taken over her mind and she is now way over her head! Calling me a drug user in a public forum is not only a lie but it definitely qualifies as a defamation of character. And i will make sure to save that for later use...

I think she still does not understand that I was there to do exactly what I did:
Bring my vision to life!

I came in with an idea. I chose the music. I edited the music in the studio with the engineer next to me. I created the elements together with the team of coaches. I choreographed the routine. The designer comes in to see the choreography. The designer is given my idea and the story behind my choreography, and he/she goes to draw and submit designs to me. After the submission, I choose the design that I feel best represents my original idea for the choreography. I am the person who says "Yes" or "No" to a design. And you "my dear" had a lot of leotards with ROSES on them! WE ALREADY HAVE ENOUGH ROSES! So , I chose the more interesting designs.
Your unfinished rough design for Ribbon & Ropes was way more interesting then all of the roses in different sizes and colors you offered me! So i wanted to see you finish that design! But you never did! So when you presented it to us, it was still plain and unfinished! I take full responsibility for the "Ruffled Red & Black skirt". That was entirely my idea. And I actually love the skirt! That leotard had potential to be great ...

The "Dead Bird" as I lovingly have called the 5 Hoops leotard was drawn and submitted to me. I had both designers watch the movie "Constantine" and I wanted them to come up with a design to sum up that story. The first designer came in with his designs and he represented the " 3 worlds - Hell, Earth & Heaven" in a very interesting way, that he explains very well in the video.
The second designer decided to go quite literal with the design and submitted the "The Bird" to me.

The following video was also shown to both designers as a reference. I was particularly interested in capturing the moment in: 3:09 - 3:12 - Because that moment is the inspiration for the beginning choreography for 5 Hoops!

I am a very busy person and I realize from time to time, that time passes so fast while I am constantly in motion...working, traveling, living... My mind gets busy with what I do and I forget to keep in touch with my family and friends, who are really important to me! Sadly, I don't get to speak to my parents very often because of my schedule, and let's not talk about seeing them , because that is a very rear occurrence :( So, it is moments like this one that I have right now, when I'm sitting and relaxing after a long but interesting working trip! With a cup of coffee in my hand, tired but happy... I stop and think of them...

I just got back from Oslo, Norway where I was working on yet another awesome project with an amazing High Fashion Photographer/Director. I am constantly contacted by people from all over the world, who are seeking my talent! I love what I do and all of the different ways I am able to create, express and show my talents! Talent that was born with and skills that I later developed through hard work! I thank my mother Efrossina Angelova on daily basis for installing her knowledge while I was very young, and teaching me what hard work and dedication can do for me not only in Rhythmic Gymnastics, but also how to translate that outside of that world. So, now I am able to rip the fruits of our labor and enjoy my work!

Thank you mother for being such an amazingly gifted woman! Thank you for allowing me to think "outside of the box", so I can become the artist that I am! Thank you for being an inspiration, for your honesty and guidance! We are both different creatures, but made of the same material! I am who I am and I have achieved what I have, because of you! People like you will continue to persevere, regardless of where they are and the obstacles they are presented with! I am and I always will be your biggest supporter and your biggest fan!

The fight scene was choreographed and rehearsed with the actors in 1 day and we shot everything in 2 days. I loved working with these people, too much fun kicking ass!! I love what I do :)

Some of you out there are like "hienas" ready to jump on any little thing :) ...It's so clear where the heat comes from.

So, since some of you are too simple minded to understand the words that i am saying.... i thought "moving pictures" will explain it to you better. ;)

So, here you have 2 different persons, with different ideas and visions submitting their designs to us! Both designers were given the same description of the idea behind the choreography's, both designers came into the gym to see the choreography's and hear the music! Both designers were given a specific Film to watch, that I based the idea of the choreography's on! And both designers came and submitted completely different designs for the leotards!!! I can not draw to save my life. But i can guide the designers through their designs and make sure that they do their best!

The second designer/seamstress in question here, submitted few designs. However, I did not want any "roses" of any size or color!! I think we should all try to move away from roses and flowers and such... So i chose the only leotard that didn't have roses on it ... and hoped that once on the gymnast body, it would translate better!

A choreography is only as good as the gymnasts ability and execution! A song is only as good as the singer who sings it! And a design is only as good as the seamstress who makes it!

I've been busy ...

So, I would like to talk about the leotards of the Spanish National Group team!

I've been going through some of the video footage I have from our meetings with the designer we first started working with. There was a man we met in Madrid, that had done some pretty good work and we were going to use him as our leotard maker! We had meetings, where we talked about the ideas behind the choreographies, the music, designs and went through the materials he was going to use! After all of that, the RFEG (Spanish Gymnastics Federation) told us that they can't afford him and they gave us a young, unexperienced, but "hungry" girl to do the teams leotards! And here is where all the chaos began.

The girl was trying , but her lack of imagination and poor technique produced such a bad quality leotards that were falling apart. Till the last moment , she was sawing and fixing and just trying to make it work! In my past experiences working with leotard makers, I always look for perfection ... not just a way to make it work! So, the Group competed with the leotards at WC Mie, 2009. When it was time to start the 2010 competition season, the Group needed to change the leotards! I travel to Madrid to make some changes on the choreographies as the Code Of Points allows. And 2 weeks prior to my arrival in Madrid, we made an appointment with the same girl (seamstress) so we can meet face to face and we can talk about the new leotards that she's supposed to make for the Group Team's Ribbon & Rope routine! When I arrived there, we called and waited, but she never showed up for the meeting! I travelled across the world and I was there for 2 weeks and she never showed up! I went home really upset, because we could not use anyone else to do the leotards, because RFEG chose this person and this person only! So we were stuck with her! Weeks before competition starts, the girl offers to make the team new Ribbon & Rope leotards for free! YAY! However, the design she brought in for the team was not only unexceptable, but for lack of a better word - ugly! In our attempt to make it work, we started going through some of the old leotards that the team had from previous years. Obviously the sizes are totally different and the leotards needed to be fitted and fixed and updated! And we were still saving the RFEG money , so they can use them to make better leotards for the next season's routines! We asked the seamstress to fix and update the leotards chosen for the Ribbon & Rope routine. She came into the gym and took the leotards, only to change her mind by the time she reached the top entrance of the National Training Center. She left the bag full of leotards to the security person there and sent a nasty unprofessional message to the coaches of the National Group Team!!! Yes, she refused to fix the leotards!! So, now the coaches of the Spanish National Group Team had to figure out how to fix the leotards , so that the girls can compete with them! One of the parents takes pity on the team and fixes the leotards days before they leave. And 2 days before Europe championship, while everyone else was resting after a long day of training in the gym, the girls of the Spanish National Group Team along with the assistant coach stayed up all night gluing Swarovski rhinestones to their leotards, so that they can look presentable enough for their country!!! That's right everyone... the gymnasts themselves glued all of those rhinestones to their own leotards, because the seamstress demonstratively refused to do her job! So, I ask you ... who does this seamstress think she is?? After "We" gave her such a Publicity with the Group Team's leotards, she went ahead and started a busyness making leotards for others but mostly the team of Ritmo. So, have you been seeing the boring, unoriginal and badly made leotards that team Ritmo has been wearing? Well, it is thanks to that same seamstress that I have been talking so fondly of :) I hope that they live happily ever after, cause they truly deserve each other. :)

Let's hope that in the future RFEG get's a better and more professional designer/seamstress to do the National Teams leotards!

There for I do not need a release form to write or post images/videos taken by me or anyone else for that matter! However, the images that have been and will be posted on my blog are actually not taken by me! They are public images that are available on the Internet to everyone. So for you to demand the removal of any piece of information or image within 72 hours from my Personal Blog, is not only unprofessional and ridiculous, but also laughable!

Answer to your 2nd demand:
I am quite aware of the fact that my comments are damaging the current RFEG and FIG politics! My opinions are based on the true facts and are given as an explanation to the current state of the Olympic Sport that is Rhythmic Gymnastics! And as a World Champion, former National coach, choreographer and TV commentator, I intend to continue to post my comments on my blog or/and future TV Broadcastings! I am glad also that you are aware of that thing called "Freedom of Speech" and I hope that you will understand why I will continue to practice it! I think that you asking me for my collaboration in this matter at this point in time is ridiculous!

Answer to your 3rd demand:
I guess your "transcriber" missed the Blog dated (June 11 2010) where I announced to the whole world of RG that I no longer wish or have the desire to work with the current Spanish Federation! So you are a bit late with the threats of firing me, especially since I never signed any Contractual Agreement binding me or my artistic talent to your Federation!!! So, there for my announcement on the mentioned above date on my Blog , is a clear indicator to your transcribers that I HAVE CEASED MY WORKING RELATIONSHIP WITH RFEG!!

Further more,I would like you to know that if you continue to send me threatening and demanding e-mails such as this one, and if you continue to harass my mother in regards to my Personal Blog, I will make it a priority to expose all of the information & drama that I have been a witness to while working for the RFEG. Including the e-mail with photos that I received from an anonymous sender few months ago, of your current RFEG President - Antonio Esteban - showing him in quite a compromising situation, surrounded by illegal paraphernalia and prostitutes! I don't have any idea who sent me this e-mail but, I've been made aware that all of the under age girls and National Team members were sent that same e-mail. I intend to post all of that for the whole RG world to see! However, if you issue a personal apology to me and Efrossina Angelova for the emotional trauma you've put us through, I am willing to take pity on your Federation and hold off those damaging photos of your current president!
And last but not least, I hope you send my best regards to Pancracia Sirvent (AKA Pancri) who is the person behind all of this none sense and please let her know that I said ... Ola cariño!!

As I move through life, going from a job to a job, meeting and working with people all over the world... Whether as a dancer on tour, or a choreographer for an artist, as an actress or stunt woman in the film industry or a choreographer for RG ...Wherever it is that i go, I develop close relationships with the people I work with. Because of that, I have also learned to quickly detach my self emotionally from each job , so I can move on to the next thing and never really feel the need to look back.
In the past few days since I announced my decision to quit, I have received messages on YouTube, Facebook and e-mails from Spanish Fans, Gymnasts and mothers. I had no idea that my decision would have such an impact on any of you. I am honestly so touched by some of your emails and messages , that I feel I must write to you and say Thank You! I appreciate your words of support and well wishes! I am especially touched by an amazing email I received from one of the mothers of the girls! It was so honest and open that it made me cry... and that alone speaks volumes! How do I ignore a plead from a mother? And how do you explain to the girls who are worried and want to know why? I thought maybe the following words will do for now:
I really became close to the girls and the coaches in Madrid. I think we all realized that we were a part of something unique and special and we developed a strong bond as a whole,... as a team. It took a long time and a lot of hard work from both sides coaches and gymnasts to make this a living, breathing, beautiful "machine". Some didn't last , but those who did have had the experience of a life time and they are stronger people because of it. I love these girls as if they were my younger sisters and i have defended them and will continue to do so as long as I feel that they stay on "The Path" that we ( Efrossina, Noelia and I ) have carved for them! Everyone has an important part in this, and it would not have worked without a single one of us. I hope that whatever it is happening in the Federation and the politics there, will not take the focus away from what is really important in the end ... and that is Team Work till 2012!! It's not time to be chilling and relaxing yet!! It's work time! The perfect thing would be if Federation, coaches and gymnasts pulled up and started working together as one, so that you Spaniards can get the results we have all worked so hard for in the past year and a half. That is my wish for you.
As for me - I guess you'll have to wait and see ... ;)

Now that I am no longer affiliated with the Spanish Federation , I can say anything I want to about anyone and do whatever I want to do with the video footage I shot while there!! So ... if I wanted to release all 30 hours of the material on the World Wide Web tomorrow, than I will! That is right!!! There is NO law that prevents me from putting personal video , personal photos or Personal Blogs on the internet for FREE for EVERYONE to watch over and over again...! I don't need any signed document by anyone I have on video. I love YouTube! What is important to know about me is this:

1. I am a lot smarter than I look ;)
2. I do NOT respond well to threats, I usually retaliate right back!
3. RG is not my bread and butter, I do it when I want to do it!
4. I am a very strong minded person, nobody has control over what I say or do! So you must deal with me directly!

How about that?? I hope those few of you ( you know who you are) that spend sooo much time reading my Blog for hours and hours, translating and reporting to "Those in charge at this moment" are on it! So I have been getting a lot of attention lately for the Live Commentary I did for the 2005 WC in Baku... I think that is thanks to YouTube. I need to clarify that WCSN (the network that hired me) and Bart Conner (the other commentator) are still very happy with the commentary I did. There is some confusion out there, people are saying that I was not asked back , because I was not politicly correct or that I was too harsh ... Not true!! When I was brought in we had a meeting and we talked about DO'S and DON'Ts ... We were to underline the execution errors , so the audience can understand how these girls should be judged honestly. Our call time in the studio was 1am because we were going LIVE with Baku time. Bart and I had pretty good rhythm on air and we gave a lot of information!!I did 2 days of commentary - 1 Individual and 1 Group. The only thing I remember him saying to me before we went on was - "Just please don't swear like that when we are on!!" ...ha ha. - I said to him - "Don't worry I can turn that shit off easy..." If you hear the whole Broadcast we recorded, you'll see that we're still talking till we went off air. After we were finished we gave each other Hi Fives and a hug and went on our married ways. I actually am in touch from time to time with Bart , he's on my Facebook Page. The only reason I have not done commentary again, is because I have been very busy and I have not been that interested in RG until Efrossina Angelova took over the Spanish Team. So is it possible for me to do Commentary again?? YES IT IS!!

I am very very busy at this moment working on a TV show, a motion capture video game, a film and my other businesses that I juggle when i'm not bitching about RG.

Idea behind the Choreography for 5 Hoops

This choreography goes hand in hand with the music. The choreography slowly begins to unfold as the music starts. The idea behind it was to show the struggle, the battle and fight between "Good & Evil". Wether one fights against others, or against ones self. The choreography represents the difficult "Path" these girls must go through to reach their final destination!

Idea behind the Choreography Ribbons & Ropes

This choreography is to be seen as a Theater Performance! A none stop Spanish dance off between two teams that ends in a confetti of a billowing toss/collaboration that brings them all together as one!

Group Finals were negotiated last night. There is so much shit ... that I am too tired to even bother writing.
What is important to know is that:
Spain had no judge in 5 Hoops on the 1st day - that is why the score of that "Medal Deserving" performance was so low! Imagine if we had a judge in that "brigada" how much of a difference that would have made on the final standing! In fact interesting to some may be that, the scores for Spain's 5 Hoops were so low that the judges were called to "the table" and asked to change them. We are talking scores so ridiculously low that even Shishkovska couldn't allow them!! The same one that was clapping... The same one who had called the judges to the table (not too long ago in Portimao) and ask them to penalize us for 0.750 for bad choice of music ... If there is one thing that I like about this whole bulls*** , is the fact that I had these "old school babushki" listening to Metalica and Apocalyptica and clapping for it ...ha ha... I love it! Do you understand what I am saying here? A perfect execution without mistakes, and they are still slaughtering the team!! Today was no different, mistakes or no mistakes - it is all about "the game on the judges table"!!! And Spain's judges need to get in there and get in there fast!
I wish I can post the scores given by every country's judge ,... my birth country ... is fu*** us in the a** ... it is war on the judges table...

Congratulations to the Team of Spain for that Bad Ass performance with 5 Hoops! It was a perfection of a performance with all executions! The final element is counted the same wether 2 gymnast or one gymnast jumps in ! It is with 2 gymnast for "show" because it is so so awesome!!!The fight today was for 5th place! Yes that is what i said... There was no way that Germany was not going to be 4th at least in this competition! And the rest... we all know what's up...
I want a medal for 5 Hoops! Give Spain a medal they deserve it!! Not because it is my work and my mother's work but because the girls ATE that fucking floor!!! Yesss girls ... I am proud of you!!
Everybody in that gym stood up to clap after 5 hoops - including Shishkovska! ha ha ...you better clap b....!!

We knew - It is what it is with the judges! What is important here , is that we are trying to get the team in the correct place , so when 2012 comes around Spain has the attention of everyone going in!

As I watch these videos I can't help but wonder about what will happen tomorrow ... Even with out mistakes (let's hope so) the way things have been already set up and negotiated it is just so unfair!! I feel for all those people who have spent their life perfecting their craft, spending countless hours, days, years , decades working in the gym... For what?? So they can go to a competition and be told that there is no way to get a medal or close to it even if you do execute it perfectly? What's even worse is, that nobody cares that this is happening! Where is the control of FIG? I just don't see what it is all for?
It is all one big pile of .... !!!

Melitina has great elements! Great elements but ...where is the choreography? I understand that everyone is trying to pack it all in , but can we do it in a way that it makes sense?
Mitrosz - ha ha ha ... Please, ... no comment! OK ok let me explain why I am laughing. This girl does not belong in this era. In order to get the score and credit , the gymnast must have the flexibility and difficulty. With what difficulties and elements was her score accumulated? Poland surely has someone better to push? I mean this girl took the place of another gymnast that has worked her ass off ...

Russia 12 Clubs WC 1989 Sarajevo
This choreography was brilliant. Choreography by Dmitri Begak! It told a story, it had a purpose, it was beautiful! This was my last competition as a gymnast and i remember when I saw this at warm up... Amazing. I remember thinking these girls were amazon women. They were really tall and intimidating. I remember they were the same hight as us (Bulgaria) standing on 1st place podium , while they were standing on the second place... It was funny, we looked like little kids next to them!

Honestly I can say that she took my breath away! When I saw this routine Live at the 87 WC I was a little girl and I was in the stands! I remember the chill that I felt when I watched this woman. She was a Goddess! She was absolutely captivating. I was and still am such a big fan of hers! Inspiring! I still get goose bumps watching this and I think the choreography and technique, performance and music is PERFECTION!

So,
what is going on a day before the competition starts??
Training on the main carpet! Practice on the main carpet with music is almost like a mini competition in it's self! At this moment the Russian team (individual & Group) are on the floor! What is interesting is that the Russian Group's new music "Seherezada", is just not matching the choreography!! Why is that? Well, because you have Tango steps in the choreography and the last time I checked Seherezada is NOT a Tango! Also, the fact that the Ribbons & Ropes routine has minimum of 4-5 big mistakes every time they perform it , should not be a factor on the final placing! Well, I guess the Rules that we are all judged and Penalized for, just don't apply to Viner and her team! What is also important to know is , that the Russian judge/mafia has secured All the placings already!! What do I mean by that?? Exactly what I said - "Negotiations have already ended and if you want to know the final placing before the competition starts - I could tell you what it will be...

One of Spain's group members, fell and hurt her wrist on the final practice of 5 Hoops. Doctors are taking an MRI to check and see if all is OK. I will keep you posted on that as soon as I know.

UPDATE: The wrist is not broken. Just hurt a little. The girl will compete.

The Spanish Group Team traveling with 6 girls, will compete with the same 5 gymnast' on both routines.
However, that could change depending on what Efrossina Angelova decides would be best for the team.

I find it interesting that 97% of the people reading My Blog are in agreement with what I say here. I find it interesting that those other 3% of the people "giving their opinions" are actually attacking mine and attacking me, Efrossina Angelova and the Spanish Team on a personal and professional level.
I find it hilarious and naive that "those people" think that, the Italians, Russians, Azerbaijan, French or whoever else I mentioned in my Blog , would have any interest in "helping" Spain with scores that would put them ahead of their own country! Seriously people ... none of those judges of the respected countries mentioned above have ever or will ever "help"or give the scores Spain deserves. None.Those are the judges that we are going to war with. Those are the judges that are "playing" the unfair game we are all trapped in! Don't get it twisted people, I am not gonna "bend over" for them or anyone else that has Rhythmic Gymnastics by "the balls" and it's squeezing the life out of it!
Who are you really attacking here, by criticizing the "penche turn" that one of "your own" has trouble with? Who? Those girls read the forum you write in and I am sure they don't need you to shine a light on their mistakes! A team is only as strong as it's weakest gymnast! Spain is not gonna beat Russia and Itally with "panshe turns" darling...
There is nothing that you have said , that it hasn't been said by Efrossina Angelova a 1000 times already. There is nothing that you see that hasn't been seen and corrected by her a 1000 times already! She is "Golden" and you are lucky to have her lead your Team.
I was lucky enough to have an amazing coach who installed in me an impeccable technique with both the body and equipment by the age of 6! So when I went into the National Team , I was prepared and ready to execute whatever they wanted and needed from me as a gymnast. I didn't need to start from the ABC , because I learned my ABC's when I was in dippers!
So ... here I am again explaining to "those 3% of you" who are obviously not supporters of the Spanish Team! Because in My Humble Opinion - "If you are not with me, then you are against me". And, If you are not with Efrossina Angelova, then you are against the Spanish Group Team!
Since my words that I write here are not reaching "those" of you, I'd like to dedicate a song to "you" by my boy Trent Reznor - who said it best when he wrote it ;)

I am pretty well informed when it comes to RG. Information comes to me all the time from different "resources". Wether I ask for it or not, it still finds it's way to me!
Now, I have no time to snoop around the internet, but apparently there are some folks out there in "Never Never Land" who think they know better and think they are more informed than those of us who actually do know!
We have part time photographers/fans and "Professional fans" of RG, who's opinions are posted all over the internet, with predictions of what the placing will be at the coming EC in Germany! My opinion on those opinions is - it's all bullshit! Yes, that's what I said - Bullshit! Why do I say such a thing? I am so vulgar and rude! Because, none of those people can predict the future , or can they?
Well, maybe some things are true when it comes to Russia being on the stand regardless of how bad they do! The other fact is, that whoever is the host of a competition - last year was Japan, and now it's Germany - we see a HUGE push and a Huge difference in scoring and placing! Shocking? Not any more. Privileges are given to those who host and ... it is what it is, we can't change that! Sad but true.
Azerbaijan has the support of mrs. Thing, because it is after all her birth place! Azerbaijan has a bulgarian coach , who is a former gymnast of Efrossina Angelova and my former team mate from the same small town of Targovishte - where I was born. So with the knowledge installed in her thanks to Efrossina Angelova and her "Politicly well located" we shall expect Azerbaijan to be pushed and pushed hard! That is why judges are important.
Belorussia is in my opinion a strong team with great technical background and if they don't make any huge mistakes , they deserve to be up on that podium!
Italy, is clean because Italy has been doing the same elements sense - correct me if i'm wrong - 5 years now! I am bored to death with Italy's choreographies! Come on now, how many times are we gonna sing the "same song with a different drum beat"? Seriously? Good execution, clean performances ... yes, because it's the same shit from way back when I did the commentary for 2005 World Championship in Baku! If anyone recorded any of my commentary for WCSN from that competition, please post it here! I am especially interested in seeing what I said about Kapranova... who is the biggest joke that Russia ever played on us all... in my humble opinion that is!
Israel has Very strong judges - and thats all they have!
Bulgaria, is not strong enough with this new team and choreography! I wish they kept what they had last year, because it was great!
France is too young and although they have a good 5 hoop beginning, they should get penalized for it, because of static equipment & gymnast. This is not a dance competition after all!
But, where is Spain in all this?
Well, Spain has been quietly working on execution and changing difficulties to make sure they get counted! Spain has changed some gymnast , but has kept the same choreographies because - "if it ain't broke , why fix it"! After Thais , Spain has made more changes and raised the starting score to maximum , in order to match it's rivals! Spain is not counting on it's judges, but it is counting on a strong, difficult and clean performance! And if the group of Spain does deliver a strong performance with out any drops, Spain should be on the podium! It is all about perfect execution! Let's hope that the fact that there have not been enough "practice competitions" will not hinder the girls mental stability! Let's hope that, in the future, those responsible for getting the Spanish Group team to international competitions will do so! Let's hope that the absence or replacement of a second much needed coach, because of lack of monetary support , will not be yet another factor! So all this extra work the coaches have been putting in, is not gonna go to waist! Spain deserves a medal , if Spain does not drop! And that is the real truth!
FYI - I will be posting and commenting on every team and their score, once the competition starts!
I want and expect full and total support from the spanish community and those who are real fans of what "we" are trying to do!

What's Important before important competitions!

Germany - who is hosting the European championship has been practicing competing! What does that mean? It is important for anyone to go and compete internationally prior to big competition! Why? it's good mental prep for any team of girls. Performing at your own gym and performing at another place is completely different! But more than anything, It's good for politics! It is what Efrossina Angelova has been asking for months!!. When you have young unexperienced girls who need to get used to the pressure of competing and performing, the last thing a coach wants to hear is that - there is no money for that...

France here is showing a new choreography and a young group of girls who are coached by the bulgarian Dunavska. I like the beginning. My question is: how long can one gymnast move individually while the others are at stand still? I will find out what the rule on this one is and will added here at a later time
OK, once the girl starts moving in the very beginning, she has about 7 seconds of free movement without equipment, while the other gymnast' are holding the hoops in a static position! That is a no no in my humble opinion ...

What happened in Portimao 09

Here is the exact performance on the very 1st day of the competition at World Cup Portimao 2009.
I was there for this competition as the choreographer of coarse and was able to watch everyone! What is important is that "mrs. Thing" was not there and the "new" person selected for the "throne" is from Poland - which kind of explaines the high scores for Poland! No?
The Spanish team did an awesome job on the first day with 5 hoops and I was so proud of them, because we changed the choreography only 5 days before that and it is a VERY difficult choreography to begin with! Although Spain had Originality in both routines and they were described, submitted and shown to the panel of judges the day before the competition... it was all REJECTED by the panel as Original elements!!!
So the competition started... Russia had bad drops...Japan was pushing to be on the podium , but with Belarussia doing some big drops, Spain was looking good! ...Until - The 0.750 deduction was given to Spain after the first 5 hoops performance! Why?? "They said" the music was bad! The choreography was not in synch with the music "they said"!!! The connection at 1:21 where the music changes with THAT awesome collaboration - was not a strong enough accent and the choreography didn't match the music ..."they said"!!! When I heard the score and the reason for the deduction ... I LOST MY FUCKING MIND!! What was even worse, is that nobody filed a "contestatzia" to fight this deduction! I was angry and I felt like
someone lit a fire under my ass!! I was told by "some people" that even Kanaeva has changed her music and left the same choreography. "They" told us to change the music!!! Guess what I said?? No , No and No!! I picked the music, I edited the music myself, and it is perfectly matched and in synch as it is! I give credit to Efrossina Angelova for sticking with the decision to keep it, because she was pressured for months after to change it!
What I said at the time was this:
What is hated now will be in style tomorrow! We are all conditioned to like what we know, give them time and they will come around! And ... this choreography is a Diamond and it will be looked at as such for years to come! Mark my words.

Poland

I have to post this, because it's a classic! I am so so happy that Poland kept this music!!! I love "church music " and I love "Disco" ... I mean why can't we put those two together? I especially like the" smooth transition" at 2:20 it is totally in synch with the choreo ... I still think it's hilarious that Spain got penalized with 0.750 last year in Portimao for 5 Hoop - by Apocalyptica for bad choice of music.
I think that Poland was ahead of Spain and was on the podium last year with this choreography... I am a fan :)

Russia here is showing a "new" but Old choreography to "new" music! This is what I call "organized chaos".
It is not the girls fault, it is the choreographer who put this together. I don't even know
where to start... so i'll just say ... LOL!

So, now that I have established that I am not my mother ... let me say this ... I am my mothers daughter .
I started this Blog , because I want my own place where I can say what I think, see, feel and experience and there will be no one to edit me or moderate me!

I do not represent any team, federation or opinion other than my own! I have a dry sense of humor that some people get and others don't. If you get it - good for you and if you don't - then you are too sensitive and I am not "your cup of tea" anyways... So, don't read my Blog!

I am passionate about what I do! I don't just "throw" a choreography together quickly. I spend a lot of time thinking, researching and I get emotionally involved with my work! I don't think that changing the music and rearranging the old choreography, is the same as getting a brand new choreography! I am not going to point any fingers at anyone, because I don't have to! I definitely have a point of view and will defend it, because I believe in my self!
I have a "sharp tongue", "dirty mouth" and "big balls", it makes people nervous and I like that. My vocabulary is peppered with words like "shit" and "fuck" .... regardless of the fact that it makes my mother cringe with embarrassment! However, I am multi-lingual, fully capable of having an intelligent conversation that includes "big words" ;) ... and I am very well spoken when I have to be!

I get very emotional when I see comments such as the one from @profundoprofundo and many others I have read on YouTube! I guess I feel betrayed by some of the the fans who are not supportive of their own country's team and feel that they are entitled to judge and criticize our work without being informed! If anyone was to criticize, then I think I have the right to respond! And vise versa...
I use YouTube daily. I love it, however I felt very limited when I responded to the person above, because I had to make my response shorter to make it fit into YouTube comment box. I didn't like that! So, ... here I am.

Efrossina Angelova is a hard working, professional who is methodical and steady and focused. She is respectful, tactful and well mannered. She respects authority and is a team player! She is well respected and known in the world of Rhythmic Gymnastics as an exceptional choreographer, trusting coach and for many years a breve 2 judge! Efrossina Angelova likes her work to speak for it self, so she doesn't have to!

5 hoops - Spanish Group Team competition in Thais 2010

Here is a video that was just recorded in France couple of weeks ago. With 2 new Junior girls that just joined the group. It's a very big difference in technique with the equipment ! What I am more interested in is not how amazing these girls are doing for a first competition .... but the post that is posted on YouTube from some of the Spanish "so called fans" who complains about the fact that we didn't change the choreography.

Creo que para dedicarse 8 horas a lo mismo, deberían ( no ellas, sino sus entrenadoras), proponer y sorprendernos a todos con algo diferente. stellaangelova @profundoprofundo Y digo yo - quen es tu??Obviously you are not someone who has any idea what it takes to execute this difficult choreography perfectly.The girls go to school full time & work 3 hours -morning and 3 hours in the afternoon.Out of those 6 hours - they do Ballet for 1h 30 min. -morning & 1 hour warm up in the afternoon.Plus 30 min conditioning.You do the math!Lets not talk out of our asses and support those who are doing the dirty work so YOU can come here and shit all over them!OK?

I am one of those people that is very creative in everything I do. I do not put all my eggs in one basket ... if you know what I mean... I am many things to many people! I was a Rhythmic gymnast, coach , choreographer, dancer , Stunt woman, actress, Director, Producer and it goes on... I am all those things thanks to my mother Efrossina Angelova - who was my rhythmic gymnastic coach. She has 35 years in this crazy Sport & has made over 30 World Champions , Europe Champions & international medalist so far! The woman is awesome and I am not just saying that because she's my mother! She took over the Spanish National Group Team a year and a half ago as the Head coach and brought me along as the choreographer. I go back and forth to Madrid for work when I am needed and we use Skype often to re choreograph routines and discuss changes. Especially since the Code Of Points - The book of Rules - constantly changes. I am a videographer and i like to bring my camera with me wherever I go. I have footage from my travels as a dancer on Tour, footage from film/tv/commercial shoots and such. I also brought my camera with me to Madrid every time I visit I shoot more footage. I currently have over 30 hours of material. There is quite a bit of interesting stuff that are heart breaking, funny, intense & controvercial. I am planing on editing it all and putting it out as a documentary! I am still not done shooting it though, because i want to follow these girls to the up coming Olympic Games in 2012! I have decided to start this Blog here, because I am planing on giving my opinions and comments on All things that are untold in Rhythmic Gymnastics & Of coarse the Entertainment world that is such a big part in my life. I will make some people angry ...and I will make some people happy ... but most importantly I will tell it like it is! Those who want to follow me and participate are welcome to! Get ready , cause it is going to be a bumpy ride... Ha!
